Omega 3 May Prevent You From Dieing Young Due to Disease

?

Are you ready to accept it as a destiny, that you are sure to suffer from depression, arthritis, diabetes and other diseases as you age? Are you ready to accept the fact that you may die of cancer someday? Are you prepared to let your body fall prey to these chronic diseases because that is what has happened possibly to your grandparents, parents or siblings?

?

Most of the people assume that one of these fatal diseases above will take their lives when they are old unless they die young due to an accident. They figure that as they age their fingers will become crippled and brittle. Their bones will degenerate resulting in a hump or remaining shorter. Then you could also fall prey to Alzheimer disease, where they have no memory of|where the memory loss could result in the total black out as to] what has happened in their life or knowledge about what's going on right now.

?

They possibly ?foresee themselves becoming more of a burden on their children. They fear that that their children may not be as loving and kind to them as they were to their children when they were young. It's sad to think that sometimes we feel that the giant wheel of life has taken a full circle, and we are back to where we had started all weak and helpless.

?

I personally would never like to wear diapers, sitting in a wheel chair at a home for the aged, being depressed over everything that I have lost out ?due to illness. I plan to remain healthy till the end. How can I feel so optimistic about all ?this? As if it will happen to everyone else except me?

?

I have got to know how to extend my life of being a healthy adult. I have read and researched about omega 3 very deeply. This is very nearly the fountain of youth.

?

Omega 3 can help prevent or help in conditions of so many diseases. Heart disease can be prevented. Strokes, Alzheimer's, diabetes are all just a few to mention. Certain types of cancer such as prostrate, breast or colon can possibly be prevented by adding omega 3 to your diet.

?

What is omega 3? It's simple. It's a fatty acid that our bodies need and most of us do not get enough of. Without it, our chances of catching the above mentioned diseases increase greatly.

?

Where do I get omega 3? Fish is a great source. Cold water oily type such as salmon, tuna or halibut. Then there?s English walnuts, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, canola oil, etc to provide you with omega 3. If you cannot eat fish, or the items I have mentioned above, there are plenty of supplements out there for you to take. A dosage of 3 grams of omega 3 per day is quite sufficient. Most supplements are available in the form of gel tabs and one tab equals a gram of omega. If you look around, you will find that there are many types of supplements available and some even come in one dose a day.

?

Take charge of your life. Don't sit there and expect these diseases to take your health away some day. Do something about it and start a daily regime of omega 3 and possibly be healthy for life.

(AP) ? The student who mocked Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba on Twitter after the player collapsed on the field during a match has been jailed for inciting racial hatred.

Liam Stacey, a 21-year-old student at Swansea University, admitted to the charge last week and was jailed Tuesday for 56 days.

Chief prosecutor Jim Brisbane says "we hope this case will serve as a warning to anyone who may think that comments made online are somehow beyond the law."

Muamba's heart stopped beating on its own for 78 minutes after he collapsed during an FA Cup quarterfinal match against Tottenham on March 17. He remains hospitalized in intensive care.

(AP) ? A puppy named after one of the world's biggest pop stars could set the world's record for tiniest dog.

Animal rescuers in Northern California say the female Dachshund mix, named Beyonce, was so small at birth that she could fit into a spoon. At two weeks, she's about the size of a business card.

The Grace Foundation, based in El Dorado County, says animal control picked up Beyonce's pregnant mother, and she gave birth to a litter of five on March 8.

Beyonce was the last one delivered, and was born without a heartbeat. Veterinarians managed to revive her through chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

The foundation says she'll be ready for adoption in about two weeks.

Meanwhile, it has submitted an application to Guinness World Records for world's smallest dog.

RIM putting BlackBerry 10 test units in developers' hands in May

It's telling, perhaps, when a VP for your company uses the word "finally" while discussing plans to release test models for your upcoming mobile operating system -- but it's certainly a pretty accurate sentiment when dealing BlackBerry 10. Talking up RIM's plans to release up to 2,000 prototypes running the OS at the BlackBerry Jam conference in May, executive Alec Saunders had this to say: "It's tangible evidence of the company making progress to finally shipping the device." Barring any further setbacks, the operating system formerly known as BBX is set to hit before year's end.

[Thanks, Neil]

What To Do With Your Tax Refund | Bankrate.com

Tax season is just around the corner ... while splurging on a vacation or new pair of shoes is tempting ... here are some tips on what could be the better option for you in the long run.

Greg McBride, CFA, senior financial analyst, Bankrate.com
"Because the tax refund is the biggest windfall that many people get all year long there's certainly the temptation to go out and spend it and unfortunately this windfall that you get is really something that could be put to better use, using that to make some financial headway."

To make this financial headway you can pay down high cost debt such as credit cards. The more you pay off now the less you have to worry about next month.

If you don't have any debt ... instead you can pad that much needed emergency savings fund for a rainy day.

Or increase your retirement contributions. By tucking your refund away you won't be tempted to spend the money in other ways.

Although these tips may seem routine ... they are the best option for your well-being today and the economies well-being tomorrow.

"When people save or pay down debt, in the short term that's a negative for the economy, because our economy is powered 70% by consumer spending, but in the long run, we're all better off if American consumers have less debt and more savings. So we're going to have to take some pain now in order to have some gain later."

After considering these tips, Bankrate.com was interested to see what people like yourselves would be doing with their tax returns ...

"I will probably be paying down some debt. I definitely accumulated some debt over the last few years and this will be a great way to reduce some. I expect a sizeable refund so I think I'll probably put almost all of it if not all of it, back to help get me back on my feet."

"That's tough because I'm an intern, I don't have to pay taxes."

"Well if I were getting money back I'd probably save it or spend it on bills but since it looks like I'll be paying more into the income tax, I won't have any coming back."

"Travel"

"Save it for sure."

March 23, 2012 07:10 GMT

Today is Friday, March 23, the 83rd day of 2012. There are 283 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On March 23, 2011, Academy Award-winning actress Elizabeth Taylor, the violet-eyed film goddess whose sultry screen persona, stormy personal life and enduring fame and glamour made her one of the last of the classic movie stars, died in Los Angeles of congestive heart failure at age 79.

On this date:

In 1775, Patrick Henry delivered an address to the Virginia Provincial Convention in which he is said to have declared, "Give me liberty, or give me death!"

In 1792, Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 94 in G Major (the "Surprise" symphony) had its first public performance in London.

In 1806, explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, having reached the Pacific coast, began their journey back east.

In 1912, Wernher von Braun, the scientist who helped develop the V-2 combat rocket for the Nazis and the Saturn V booster rocket for NASA, was born in Wirsitz, Germany.

In 1919, Benito Mussolini founded his Fascist political movement in Milan, Italy.

In 1933, the German Reichstag adopted the Enabling Act, which effectively granted Adolf Hitler dictatorial powers.

In 1942, the first Japanese-Americans evacuated by the U.S. Army during World War II arrived at the internment camp in Manzanar, Calif.

In 1956, Pakistan became an Islamic republic.

In 1965, America's first two-person space flight began as Gemini 3 blasted off with astronauts Virgil I. Grissom and John W. Young aboard for a nearly five-hour flight.

In 1983, President Ronald Reagan first proposed developing technology to intercept incoming enemy missiles -- an idea that came to be known as the Strategic Defense Initiative. Dr. Barney Clark, recipient of a Jarvik permanent artificial heart, died at the University of Utah Medical Center after 112 days with the device.

In 1994, Luis Donaldo Colosio, Mexico's leading presidential candidate, was assassinated in Tijuana. Wayne Gretzky broke Gordie Howe's National Hockey League career record with his 802nd goal.

In 2010, President Barack Obama signed a $938 billion health care overhaul, declaring "a new season in America."

Ten years ago: President George W. Bush, during a visit to South America, pledged cooperation with Peru in the fight against terrorism. Girls in Afghanistan celebrated their return to school for the first time in years. Irina Slutskaya captured her first world title, defeating four-time champion Michelle Kwan at the World Figure Skating Championships in Nagano, Japan. Opera and pop singer Eileen Farrell died in Park Ridge, N.J. at age 82.

Five years ago: The House voted for the first time to clamp a cutoff deadline on the Iraq war, agreeing by a thin margin to pull combat troops out by late 2008. Iranian forces captured 15 British sailors and marines who were searching a merchant ship in the disputed Shatt Al-Arab waterway Persian Gulf; they were held for 13 days. Miss Tennessee Rachel Smith was crowned Miss USA at the pageant in Los Angeles.

One year ago: NATO ships began patrolling off Libya's coast as airstrikes, missiles and energized rebels forced Moammar Gadhafi's tanks to roll back from two key western cities. A blast blamed on Palestinian militants ripped through a bus stop in Jerusalem, killing Mary Jean Gardner, a 59-year-old British tourist and wounding two dozen other people, including five Americans. Army Spc. Jeremy Morlock pleaded guilty at his court-martial at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state to the murders of three unarmed Afghan civilians (he was sentenced to 24 years in prison).

Cylinder hides contents and makes them invisible to magnetic fields

ScienceDaily (Mar. 22, 2012) ? Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona researchers, in collaboration with an experimental group from the Academy of Sciences of Slovakia, have created a cylinder which hides contents and makes them invisible to magnetic fields. The device was built using superconductor and ferromagnetic materials available on the market.

The cylinder is built using high temperature superconductor material, easily refrigerated with liquid nitrogen and covered in a layer of iron, nickel and chrome. This simple and accessible formula has been used to create a true invisibility cloak.

The cylinder is invisible to magnetic fields and represents a step towards the invisibility of light -- an electromagnetic wave. Never before had a device been created with such simplicity or exactness in theoretical calculations.

The invention is published this week in the journal Science.

Researchers at UAB, led by ?lvar S?nchez, lecturer of the Department of Physics, came up with the mathematical formula to design the device. Using an extraordinarily simple equation scientists described a cylinder which in theory is absolutely undetectable to magnetic fields from the outside, and maintains everything in its interior completely isolated from these fields as well.

Equation in hand and with the aim of building the device, UAB researchers contacted the laboratory specializing in the precise measurement of magnetic fields at the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. Only a few months later the experimental results were clear. The cylinder was completely invisible to magnetic fields, made invisible whatever content was found in its interior and fully isolated it from external fields.

The superconductor layer of the cylinder prevents the magnetic field from reaching the interior, but distorts the external field and thus makes it detectable. To avoid detection, the ferromagnetic outer layer made of iron, nickel and chrome, produce the opposite effect. It attracts the magnetic field lines and compensates the distortion created by the superconductor, but without allowing the field to reach the interior. The global effect is a completely non-existent magnetic field inside the cylinder and absolutely no distortions in the magnetic field outside.

Magnetic fields are fundamental for the production of electric energy -- 99% of energy consumed is generated thanks to the magnetic camps within the turbines found in power stations -- and for the design of engines for all types of mechanic devices, for new advances made in computer and mobile phone memory devices, etc. For this reason controlling this field represents an important achievement in technological development. Scientists are perfectly familiar with the process of creating magnetism. However, the process of cancelling at will is a scientific and technological challenge, and the device created by UAB scientists opens the way for this possibility.

The results of this research project also pave the way for possible medical applications. In the future, similar devices designed by UAB researchers could serve to block a pacemaker or a cochlear implant in a patient needing to undergo a magnetic resonance.
